Omega

MrHappy's video guide for Omega is featured in the top-right of this page. It should provide a quick walkthrough of the fight. A short summary of mechanics is provided as a reference on this page. The intent of this page is not to provide a guide on the fight (there are plenty of those around), but to provide a quick refresher of mechanics, to communicate everyones positions and highlight strategies we might do different from video guides.

Positions

H1 Tymo H2 Marielle

D1 Know D2 Shiroe

R3 Gust R4 Snuggleton

Red Fists and Second Pantokrator

SW S SE

Stayers D1 R4 D2

Swappers H2 R3 H1

First Fists

  • Stayers stay at SW, S and SE of the boss, outside of its hit box.

  • Swappers stand behind their stayer.

  • Swappers stand on their assigned stayer if their fist colours are different.

  • If the fists are the same colour, the swapper looks for the other pair of same coloured fists and stands on the stayer in that pair.

Add Phase

  1. Start in Flame Spots, with R3 and H2 swapped.

  2. Do it.

Big Fists

The boss should be in the middle.

  1. When 4 people get tethers, the tank without one should main the boss.

  2. Tethered to North: stand on A, tethered to East: stand on B, etc.

  3. Those without tethers stack on 2, the middle of the arena.

  4. Stack after fists and repeat.

  5. Save sprint for after second set of Big Fists.

Pantokrator 1

  1. Bait South when the cast starts.

  2. Dodge clockwise around the boss.

  3. Share line stack at North after 4 ground AoEs.

  4. Take up flame spots. Cardinals inside the hit box, Diagonals out.

  5. After cardinals get marked, they can move out, staying in flame spots.

  6. After blue line lasers go off, diagonals go inside the hit box and cardinals stay out.

  7. After diagonals get marked, they can move out, staying in flame spots.

  8. After the second blue line lasers go off, everyone springs to the south west corner of the arena. Heavy healing and mitigation needed.

  9. MT faces the boss north, while the OT takes the tether east.

Red Fists

  1. As peripheral synthesis is casting, everyone stacks in the South West corner.

  2. Tank LB a little after the cast completes.

  3. After the ground AoEs, put the boss back in the centre after they went off.

Pantokrator 2

  1. Bait South at max melee range.

  2. Dodge through the boss. The 4th AoE should land at max melee North.

  3. Continue to dodge 6 more AoEs clockwise or counter-clockwise, based on the flamethrowers.

  4. After a total of 10 AoEs, MT goes NW and OT goes NE (flame spot).

  5. Swapper from the first fist mechanic take their first fist positions inside the hitbox. Be careful not to be clipped by tank cleaves.

  6. Swappers move out of the hit box when they get marked. The three stayers should avoid being hit by the blue line lasers that will go on the stayers.

  7. After the lasers have gone off, the stayers will repeat what the swappers just did and the swappers position themselves such that they won’t get hit by another laser.

  8. Then everyone sprints to the south west corner for the proximity AOE. Heal and shield as necessary, then face the boss north after.

Slow motion Pantokrator 2. From 6:10 to 8:10.

Role Specific Tips

Tanks

  • Use big mitigation or invulns for Mustard Bomb, as it is the major tank buster in the fight.

  • AoE shields and Reprisals should be used for periods of heavy AoE damage or big AoEs, like Update Program Flamethrower, Engage Ballistic Systems, 2nd and 3rd Peripheral Synthesis, or Electric Slide.

  • The OT should take Blaster away from the party (NE corner is a good spot), and use a light cooldown for the subsequent Atomic Ray to not die. If the OT is a PLD, they can have a ranged do it and Cover them for the Atomic Ray.

  • Remember to tank LB Delta Attack.

  • Save strong cooldowns for Diffuse Wave Cannon.

  • If MTing, Starboard/Larboard will be the opposite way of what other players call. Keep that in mind.

Healers

  • This fight is light on damage for the most part, until Pantokrator.

  • As Gradual Petrification is after a long transition, you can use free AoE heals there. Just be quick healing it up.

  • You must top off the player picking up the Blaster tether, or they will be Doomed. Give that player a shield for the next Atomic Ray.

  • Wait until all players are moving to the middle to top them off with AoE healers for Electric Slide. As players are stacked, ground effects like Sacred Soil/Asylum/Collective Unconsciousness are useful here.

  • Make sure to have HoTs rolling any time Flamethrower is cast after Upgrade Program.

  • Save your strongest AoE heals for both Pantokrator sections. It is multiple heavy AoE damage in quick sequence.

  • Tank LB3-ing 3rd Peripheral Synthesis makes it much easier on the healers.

  • Keep tanks topped off during Diffuse Wave Cannon. AoE heal the Wave Cannon Kyrios targets.

DPS

  • This is mostly a mechanical fight with small amounts of downtime.

  • DPS with good damage at their 1m cycle should pick up the Live Wire buff. NIN, SMN, and MCH are all good recipients for it.

  • The Level Checker is omni-directional.

  • Detach from the boss slightly for Ballistic Impact to not clutter the middle.

  • If you have a mobility skill like Elusive Jump or Shukuchi, you can use it to get to your Peripheral Synthesis 2 position as Biohacked is about to resolve.
