Mechanic Summary
Target Analysis is a circle AoE that applies a debuff on either the first or second player in aggro. It is followed by Savage Wave Cannon, which should be shared by both tanks, with the debuffed tank behind the other tank.
Diffuse Wave Cannon is similar to Implosions from Chaos, but the safe areas are indicated by blue orbs, instead of the name of the cast.
Oversampled Wave Cannon big AoE tankbusters on two random targets on (or closest to) the monitor side of the boss.
Ion Efflux heavy raid-wide damage.
Program Omega is a soft enrage. Gain a debuff stack for every Ion Efflux.
Tethers
Local Regression explodes when the tethered players come too close to each other.
Remote Regression explodes when the tethered players are too far apart.
Hello World Debuffs
Critical Overflow Bug (COB) huge explosion on the players with this debuff when it runs out, dealing a lot of damage to anyone in it. The player who had it gets OD, anyone else hit by it gets COB.
Overflow Debugger (OD) prevents the player from getting COB.
Latent Data kills the player when it runs out. Gets cleared by taking damage.
Critical Synchronisation Bug (CSB) shared AoE on the player when it runs out. Tanks can take it solo, others need to share with at least one other player. The player who had it gets SD, others hit by it will get CSB.
Synchronization Debugger (SD) prevents the player from getting CSB.
The following debuffs only appear in Hello World 2:
Critical Underflow Bug (Rot) explodes into an AoE that will kill all players hit (except the source) after the duration of the debuff runs out. The source will also gain UD. Any player that comes into contact with a player afflicted by Rot will also gain the Rot debuff.
Underflow Debugger (UD) prevents players from receiving Rot.
Cascading Latent Data will kill the player, unless they resolve a Rot before the timer runs out.
Intro Phase
Pull the boss to approximately the middle of the arena, facing North. Exact positioning is not critical at this point. The fight starts with the Target Analysis mechanic, followed by the first Patch mechanic.
Target Analysis
At around the 4th GCD, the OT Provokes+Shirks and stands North-East. MT stand North-West.
One of the tanks will be hit by the Target Analysis. This tank moves to North max-melee range.
The tank that was not hit goes to North on the hitbox.
1st Patch
All players will be tethered. Each Tank/Healer will be tethered to a different DPS. There are two types of tethers, Local and Remote. There will be two of each, with both tanks having a different one, just as both healers.
Note: With this strat it does not matter who you're tethered to, so you only have to look at what debuff you have.Healer with Local goes North, rest goes South.
If sides are safe, rotate clockwise (as shown in the animation), otherwise stay put.
Tank with Remote goes through the boss, until their tether explodes. After the tether explodes, both tanks are free to move and prepare for the next step.
Tanks go to screen-side, MT North, OT South. Healer with Local goes to North of safe-side, rest goes South of safe-side.
Tanks and Healer with Local go to the group immediately after the tankbusters go off.
DPS with the last remaining tether moves away from the group when the last debuff has fallen off. Joins the group again immediately after his tether has gone off.
Hello World 1
We're doing the Unreal strat for both Hello Worlds. If you're interested in the full description of the strat you can find it in this presentation.
Archive Phase 1
This phase starts with
Archive Peripheral.
then a Wave Cannon sequence.
Index and Archive Peripheral.
Second Patch, which is done the same as the first Patch, boss relative.
And it ends with Archive All.
Archive Peripheral
Go to the one safe pizza slice. The image shows how to determine the safe slice.
Once you are in the safe slice, go all the way to the edge, so tanks have room to deal with the buster shortly after.
After the buster, the mechanic is finished.
Index and Archive Peripheral
Tethered players go as far from their tether as they can, tracing it through the middle of the arena, standing all the way on the edge.
Untethered players take their positions as shown in the image (true north) a little bit away from the edge (about 2 rings).
After the beams go off the mechanic is over.
Archive All
The boss will spawn a line and proximity AoE.
After the boss has turned: Run to the edge of the Arena at its rear.
Identify the Target Fist, based on the turning arrows on the boss.
Stack behind the Target Fist at the edge of the arena to bait AoEs.
Spread after the bait.
Those without markers and the player with the Stack Marker move back to the bait spot after the AoEs have gone off.
Those with Circle Markers adjust their spread to not clip anyone. Tali, Mari, Know and Gust adjust outward if needed, others stay close.
Everyone stack on the Target Fist to kill it and avoid explosions from other fists.
Archive Phase 2
A repeat of the first Archive Phase.
The soft enrage starts after Archive All. It is a total of 5 casts of Ion Efflux, with each Ion Efflux now inflicting a stacking debuff as well.
The graphics from the first Archive Phase are repeated here.
Role Specific Tips
Tanks
Target Analysis and Oversampled Wave Cannon are the two tank busters of the fight, and both require two tanks (Target Analysis one if invulned) and moderate mitigation.
The OT should provoke seven seconds in in order to be 2nd on aggro for Target Analysis. They should keep doing this if they are not 2nd in aggro.
Move away from each other during Target Analysis to not clip each other with the debuff. Make sure the tank without the debuff is standing closer to the boss.
The Tank with Local should quickly break their tether as soon as Patch comes out, by stacking with the party South of the boss. The Tank with Remote should break their tether right after Diffuse Wave Cannon resolves.
The MT should be north side and OT be south side for Oversampled Wave Cannon. Mitigate as necessary.
Use tank shields and Reprisal for Ion Efflux. An instant Passage of Arms (PLD) works wonders.
The tank who starts with Defamation in Hello World should make sure they do not clip any non-Latents.
You do not need to move the boss after most mechanics, as he will teleport to the middle for every Peripheral, Archive, and Hello World.
There is a lot of time to move for Archive Peripheral, so move the boss all the way in such that the rear positional is available for melee. You may need to squeeze through the lasers for the incoming Target Analysis.
Target Analysis is immediately after Index and Archive Peripheral, so make sure no one is standing where you return to. This one is a prime one to use an invulnerability on.
A good guideline for Program Omega mitigation is nothing on first Ion Efflux, Reprisal on second, Reprisal and buffed Shake (WAR) on third, and Divine Veil + Passage (PLD) on fourth. If playing with a DRK, shift the buffed Shake one Ion Efflux further.
Healers
There is extremely heavy healing required in this fight. Most mechanics are accompanied with heavy AoE damage, a tank buster, or both. Top off the party before all instances of AoE damage.
Give the OT extra care during the first Target Analysis as they may take an auto while securing threat.
Patch requires an AoE heal after every single tether break. Oversampled Wave Cannon requires healing on both tanks. Have HoTs rolling and use healing buffs with your AoE heals, while keeping the tanks up.
Ion Efflux requires all players to be topped as well as some form of % mitigation or shield.
Hello World requires heavy healing. Critical Synchronization Bug deals almost 50k to each share target, and Critical Overflow Bug deals 20k damage. Start with heavy mitigation for the entire party as Hello World finishes casting. Have HoTs rolling and single target heal each target of the share as they take the damage. The defamations and Critical Error can be healed up with AoE heals, but heavy single target healing is required for the shares. Make sure everyone is full for the Ion Efflux that follows.
Top off the party before Hyper Pulse and Wave Cannon. Top off the tanks after the damage goes off as Target Analysis is about to go off. The party can wait - there is no AoE damage until Patch almost twenty seconds later.
Top off the party for Electric Slide and for Optimized Fire III + Spotlight. HoTs can take care of the rest, as there is no AoE damage until Hello World 2.
The healing for Hello World 2 should be the same as the healing for Hello World 1. Critical Underflow Bug does no damage, and Cascading Latent Defect only does less than 3k.
Save healing buffs and all mitigation for Program Omega. Heavy buffs like Sacred Soil, Thin Air, and Lightspeed should be used for the third and fourth Ion Effluxes.
DPS
Safety is far more important than up-time in this fight. Any error during Hello World will likely instantly wipe the group.
The fourth tether should be broken right as Ion Efflux starts casting or the third one’s debuff is gone.
Again, safety is far more important than up-time in Hello World. Get those Piercing Talons, Throwing Daggers, and Enpis on your hotbar! When learning the mechanic, you should determine where and when you can not hit the boss based on your strategy, and never greed more than that.
Move slightly backwards during Index and Archive Peripheral’s Wave Cannon so you don’t get clipped by Hyper Pulse.
Archive All comes at a slightly bad time for everyone’s cooldowns. Make sure you have enough DPS to kill the Arm Unit add - save something if necessary.
A second potion can be fit right after Archive All’s mechanic is done, and it will be up in time for the final burst in the fight, right after Program Omega starts casting.
The boss auto-attacks are physical, so Feint helps during periods of long auto-attacks. This is during Archive Peripheral, and right after Wave Cannon.
Use Addle on Ion Effluxes and Apocatastasis on whichever tank needs it the most.
Palisade is also useful for periods of heavy auto-attacks. There are no physical tank busters in the fight, so use it whenever.
